Description

Project RX132 consists of the following elements:

Demolition of existing old building

Construction of a cellar, serving as a retention for decontaminated water in case of emergency/fire. General civil works included.

Construction of a modular container building

Detailing the utilities for BL2+ & BL2 laboratories, such as HVAC, Alarms, Electrics, phone, implementation of support & finishing equipment, etc.

Validation

Laboratory area: 325m2
Technical area: 400m2
Support & Office area: 325m2

All laboratories and lab support rooms will be included into one BL2 laboratory suite. Additional office space will be available for 3 junior scientists and 20 lab technicians in 5 offices and a meeting room.

Product description:

The creation of laboratories on the site was aimed to fulfill an internal need within the GlaxoSmithKline Group to create space for the development and testing of new products.

RX132 is a fast track project aiming to provide self-sustainable laboratory facilities for part of Clinical Immunology.

The laboratories needed are 4 BL2+ labs for bacterial growth and testing and one BL2 lab for cell culture activities. The Lab support will mainly consist out of a decontamination room equipped with an autoclave, disposable equipment storage space and a large freezer storage room.
