CU Architecture
Group-IPS
is a multidisciplinary engineering company using
a structure of Competence Units to manage internal
knowledge and expertise. Depending on the current
needs of a project, a synergy is created between
several Competence Units.

Architecture@IPS |
|
In 1998,
realising the importance of a conceptual
approach towards industrial projects,
IPS added architecture to its range
of professional activities. This has
allowed IPS to give added value to
the logistical and visual aspects
of its projects.
Since that time, Architecture@IPS
has grown out of its industrial background
and has developed into a flexible
partner for all your architectural
projects.

|
Vision |
|
Striving
for a constructive synergy between
architecture (conceptual thinking)
and engineering (analytical
thinking).
|
|
Architectural
Approach |
|
Contrary
to conceptual art, architecture will
always be a compromise between conceptual
an analytic elements.
A balance must be found between form
and budget, between concept and technical
feasibility...
The concept, striving for a translation
of the complete programme into a language
of forms without any restrictions
whatsoever, does require analysis
in order to link up to reality (budget,
planning, technical feasibility).
Added value can only be created
by managing both approaches. Doing
so will invariably translate into
simplicity, transparency and flexibility.
A good example of this approach is
the Technological Center in Eisenh?ttenstadt
(Germany).

Interests |
|
We are
looking for projects where this situation
is clearly present. For example buildings
with a complex programme (museum,
seminar rooms,...) or constructions
with extensive technical requirements
combined with architectural and logistic
needs (concert halls, laboratories,
airports,...).

Network
All
Operational Units use a common ftp-server.
An extra server is dedicated to the
website and e-mail.
Each employee is equipped with a laptop.
For major projects, a local network
can be established, complete with
the installation of a local server.

Staff |
|
Permanent
Staff
The permanent staff has its main activities
within the BU-ARCH projects. They
specialise in both industrial and
non-industrial projects, with the
aim of developing a high level of
architectural services and expertise.
Rotating Staff
The non-permanent staff belongs to
the BU-ARCH and contributes relevant
knowledge and experience. They also
function in projects for other Competence Units, however.
Staff Group-IPS
If there is a requirement for expertise
(bio-engineering, safety coordination,...)
or capacity (project administration,
project coordination...), a synergy
can be created between the different
Competence and Supporting Units.
